About Nana Patekar
Reports suggest that Nana Patekar had already passed away when he was brought to the casualty ward of Manipal Hospital in Bambolim from his home at Ocean Park in Dona Paula. ANI further revealed that further enquiry is currently in progress by PSI Nitin Naik. The case registration in this case happened since he died at his home alone after which the police put an unnatural death case to rule out any foul play. In this case, this was done after the hospital filed a report with the police.
The Chief of the Oncology Department at Manipal Hospital, Dr Shekhar Salkar, told ANI that they had shifted Nana Patekar to the hospital at 4:20 or 4:30 am. And that though they tried their best to save him, he was brought to the hospital dead. The veteran actor was cremated at his farmhouse in Pune, and his body was flown in from Goa the same day. Many people came to his farmhouse to pay final respects to him. After performing his last rites, his son, Malhar Patekar, spoke to the media and said that his achievements had made him “immortal.”
Many Bollywood celebrities couldn’t attend his funeral since it was held very late at night. Reportedly, his mortal remains arrived late in Pune, and the tragedy had happened early in the morning, so they decided to do it the same night.
