What Did Smriti Irani’s Post Say?
Actor and former Union Cabinet Minister Smriti Irani took to social media and remembered Nana Patekar and his love for cooking. In the caption, she wrote that she called him Dada while the world knew him as ‘Nana Patekar’. She penned that his calls were as random as they were precious, adding that there were no formalities, no pleasantries, but just that familiar voice of him asking “Kahan hai re?” Smriti stated that they barely ever photographed their moments together because one could never imagine there would come a day when photographs would be all she would be left with. The Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi star recalled calling him out of the blue, sometimes just to put him on the phone with young talent who admired him. She added, “And he would oblige, with all the warmth that lay beneath that unmistakably gruff exterior.” Further, she wrote that among the memories she holds closest is one of him cooking for her. She also revealed their last conversation, where he asked when she would come to Pune, and she answered, “soon.” Smriti ended the caption with, “Guess was not soon enough. See you on the other side, Dada.”
