‘Modiji Ki Beti’ Trailer: This Comedy About Militants Kidnapping Modiji’s Daughter Is Making Us Wonder ‘What TF Did We Just Watch?’
Who would have thought that a comedy movie would have been made about Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India? And of all the possible titles that could have been given to the film, Modiji Ki Beti would’ve made the final cut? Yes, you read that right! The trailer of Modiji Ki Beti was dropped on September 20 and it made us all wonder, what did we just watch?! The cast of the film includes Avani Modi, Vikram Kochhar, Pitobash Tripathy, Tarun Khanna and Kavita Ghai, and it is directed by Eddy Singh.

The 2-minute-29-second video begins with a group of terrorists training in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (POK). Of this lot, two militants are thrown out of the camp because of their dumbness. They then vow to do something so great that the world will remember them. Soon, they hear on television that a girl called Avani Modi is claiming to be Modiji’s daughter. The two hatch a plan to kidnap her as they think in doing so, they will become famous.
They kidnap the girl from what looks like a film set and keep her hostage in Pakistan. The leader of their group also calls them to make them understand the gravity of the situation and also asks them what they expected in return for kidnapping that girl. So, the two say that they were hoping to ask for Kashmir back!

Meanwhile, the trio, i.e.the two dumb militants and Avani, are seen chilling together! But tables turn when Avani snatches the gun from their hands and instead begins ordering them around. She is also seen hitting them with a gun and then tying them to a tree. The trailer ends with her driving a jeep into a rock and a huge collision taking place.

The film clearly looks like it was made to mock Pakistan as there are many jibes and taunts directed at the country. But I still can’t wrap my head around the sheer outrageousness of this premise, and the audaciousness of its title. Modiji Ki Beti will release in theatres on October 14, 2022.
