Marvel Announces Sam Bailey And Angela Barnes Will Direct ‘Ironheart’ Starring Dominique Thorne

The day MCU entered Phase 4, Marvel decided to serve some top-notch content to the audience and we are totally loving it. After releasing the trailer of Ms. Marvel starring Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan, they decided to reveal some details about their upcoming series. They announced that the highly-anticipated series Ironheart starring Dominique Thorne will be directed by Sam Bailey and Angela Barnes. We can’t wait for more updates, to be honest!

As we all know, Marvel is becoming all about representation and we are about to witness a black woman playing a superhero which is super exciting, not gonna lie. Ironheart will star Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams, the story revolves around a genius teenage inventor who creates the most advanced suit of armour which resembles the famous Iron Man suit. The Marvel series will be directed by two black women – Sam Bailey (Brown Girls) and Angela Barnes (Blindspotting), this is a big deal. The duo will direct three episodes each, as per reports.

Anthony Ramos and Lyric Ross also joined the cast of Ironheart, as per reports. According to the reports, Ryan Coogler has also joined the team as an executive producer which is created by the head writer Chinaka Hodge.

For the unversed, Dominique Thorne is all set to make her MCU debut as Riri Williams in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, which is reportedly scheduled to be released in November.

Ironheart will release on Disney+ Hotstar. And we are hoping that Marvel will give us more updates regarding the series.
