These days, we are having more actresses openly talking about pay parity and how they have begun demanding their worth. In the past, we have had Taapsee Pannu, Kangana Ranaut and Deepika Padukone talking about the huge gap between the pay cheques cut for actresses and actors in the industry. And recently, another actress to openly discuss the unfair remuneration practises in film industry is Kriti Sanon. In a video that has gone viral on Reddit which is from the radio channel, Radio Nasha, the actress along with her Bhediya co-star Varun Dhawan where she is heard talking about how she goes about with the whole “asking for what I deserve” while discussing her cheque while getting on board a film.

In the video, Kriti Sanon is heard saying that she rejects films when she thinks she is not paid her worth. She says she makes an exception for a film in the money department when she really likes its script. Furthermore, Kriti talked about the times when she has signed up for films for far less than she usually charges but there have also been times when she felt that she was being arm-twisted.
Up ahead in the video, Varun Dhawan talks about how there are actresses junior to him who are getting paid what they asked for and they are much happy now.

But it seems like Reddit users are in agreement with Kriti Sanon’s opinion. Many went ahead to write that she has not been delivering good performance despite asking for a huge sum of money. One of them said, “She expects a lot more money & attention par khud ke side se kuch accha performance nahi degi who.” Another one also asked what her memorable roles have been so far and that she is ‘delusional’ if she thinks she is at the peak of her career.

Well, if she asked for a certain amount of money for a film, and the producers paid her that sum, it means they must have seen her worth. So, it was a win-win for both Kriti and the producers.
