‘Koffee With Karan’ S7 E8 Review: Come For Tea On Kiara’s Wedding Plans, Stay For Her And Shahid’s Friendship

‘Koffee With Karan’ S7 E8 Review: Come For Tea On Kiara’s Wedding Plans, Stay For Her And Shahid’s Friendship

Well, well, well! I kept up with my tradition of watching Koffee With Karan on Thursdays, just this time, I watched it right when the episode dropped which was at midnight! I was very dicey about how episode eight is going to fare because honestly, the ones released so far in season seven have been kaafi blah and okayish. So, when on Monday the trailer of the latest Koffee With Karan episode was dropped, and I saw that Kiara Advani and Shahid Kapoor are going to grace the couch, my hopes shot right up! And I was not disappointed by this episode. For me, episode eight was a Koffee With Karan slump breaker which got me feeling all excited about the show all over again!

Kiara Advani-Shahid Kapoor’s Friendship

As it can be seen in the trailer itself, Kiara and Shahid share a great bond and appeared very comfortable around each other. They had each other’s backs throughout the episode and despite Karan Johar and Shahid teasing her about her relationship with Sidharth Malhotra, never did once Shahid make her feel uncomfortable. It was pretty evident that even though he was pulling her leg, too, but was also making sure everything he said was light, cool and all in good faith.

Kiara and Shahid also did not let an opportunity pass by of praising each other for their performances in their respective best films. And what I absolutely and utterly loved was that they behaved like a team in front of Karan. Now, I am sure, you must have noticed that he has a habit of sort of cornering the celebrities if he wants them to spill certain details especially, about those about their personal lives and he did that with Kiara in this episode as well. In spite of this, they both were constantly supporting and cheering each other and that’s real friendship right there, guys!

Also, a key thing that has not gone unnoticed by me in this episode is how Kiara and Shahid had their own chit-chatting session going on when Karan Johar was either speaking to the rapid-fire jury or was trying to cut either of them off while they were speaking. I just loved how they continued talking and spoke to Karan only when they were finished.

During the game round as well, Kiara and Shahid got competitive but like mature competitive. They were all cute and fun and are the perfect example of what adult friendships should be like. They proved that even if you go days without talking to your best friend, your rapport will remain the same no matter what!

Kiara Advani And Sidharth Malhotra’s Relationship Goes Official

After much asking, probing and prodding, Kiara directly or indirectly did admit that she and Sidharth are in a relationship. From describing her life as ‘Shershaah’ to admitting that she and Sid are more “close friends”, enough hints were dropped that confirmed their romance. She also said that she will never forget that moment when she first met Sidharth and it was just too cute! Also, Kiara remained super tight-lipped about her wedding details while both Karan and Shahid went on speculating about it and it does make me wonder if they are really getting married by the end of the year. My sappy heart will be the happiest if this news turns out to be true because I am a solid SidKiara fan!

Shahid Kapoor’s Stand On Kabir Singh

Well, there is no denying that Kabir Singh was a problematic film but Shahid Kapoor explained that he did the film because Kabir Singh was a complex character. He also went on to say that there have been films before where the protagonist is far from perfect and rather is messy. To be very honest, Shahid’s explanation and stand on Kabir Singh was far more believable and honest than Vijay Deverakonda’s. Just a personal opinion, BTW, don’t come at me!

Rapid-Fire Was More Like A Slow-Fire Round

The most exciting segment of Koffee With Karan is undoubtedly the rapid-fire section. Now, both Kiara and Shahid gave good answers to the questions asked, but I feel they did not understand the assignment of keeping their answers short and crisp. On multiple occasions, they have given long-form answers and Karan was just waiting there with an expression saying, “Haan ye kar lo pehle!” But it was the coolest rapid-fire round of the season so far but I feel it should have been a tie between the two.

Too Much Shaadi Pressure On Kiara

Learn from Karan how to just connect one completely unrelated thing to the other. The man does it like a pro. There are several moments during the episode when Karan seamlessly got to Kiara and Sidharth’s wedding and it felt like there is mounting pressure on bichari Kiara to just get hitched with her beau now!
