‘Koffee With Karan’ S7: Ananya Panday Got Real About The Trolling After The ‘Struggle’ Remark By Siddhant Chaturvedi
In the 4th episode of Koffee With Karan Season 7, we saw Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday on the couch, talking about their personal lives, careers, sex lives and of course, their upcoming movie, Liger. While Vijay Deverakonda is an outsider in a deeply nepotistic industry who made it big, Ananya is a star kid, born with the proverbial silver spoon. Of course, this was going to be addressed on the couch. Karan Johar asked her about the trolling that she dealt with in the aftermath of Siddhant Chaturvedi’s ‘struggle’ remark about star kids, and let’s just say, her response was kaafi kandid.

What Was Ananya Panday’s Experience Growing Up?
Like a lot of the star kids, Ananya Panday experienced a lot of trolling as a kid too. She remembered reading headlines about ‘her beauty and the fact that she is flat-chested’. She further talked about the fact that all this trolling along with being mean, has taken a massive toll on her mental health.
She also talked about the fact that they go a step too far sometimes. She believes that a ‘lot of people laugh when she is called a star kid as they sincerely believe that her father isn’t a real star’. She told how it gets very hurtful and personal when they start talking about her life and family as a whole. But, she believes that she is used to it and hence, she can deal with it.

The Aftermath Of The Privilege Vs Struggle Debate With Siddhant Chaturvedi
Karan Johar asked Ananya about the fateful roundtable that she was a part of alongside her Gehraiyaan costar Siddhant Chaturvedi, which led to a barrage of memes that still haunt her. Siddhant had said what is now a very quoted line about star kids and outsiders, “Jahaan humaare sapne poore hote hain, wahaan inka struggle shuru hota hai.”
Ananya talked about how the aftermath of this led to a lot of trolling, and she didn’t know what she could do about being born where she was.

She further added the fact that she’s obsessed with her family and she loves that she has grown up around them but, she understands the point of view of others. She believes that her career is all about entertaining people and whether they laugh at her or with her, it’s all good. ‘At least, they’re laughing’ she said, as she closed off the topic.
What Happened With Ananya Panday When She Entered Bollywood?
The moment a star child steps into the industry, they are trolled for getting their opportunity because of their parents and their money or they used their contacts to pull their children into the industry’s loop. Following this, they are massively trolled for their work and their talent is ignored.
Ananya discussed a similar rumour that she has to deal with a lot. People seem to believe that her father, Chunkey Panday, had paid immensely to get her, her first role. She further clarified with sarcasm, saying, ‘I’m sure you’ve all heard that my father doesn’t like paying for things!’.

Ananya Panday still remains positive as she loves what she does and she wants to be the best at her work. She said, ‘I want to be the best actress and I work very very hard to make sure that happens’. It’s clear that her goals are set and she is prepared and enthusiastic to make her way to the top. After seeing her get so real and genuine, I sincerely hope she makes it.
