Kangana Ranaut Defends ‘Soft Porn Star’ Remark On Urmila Matondkar, Says “It’s Not An Objectionable Term”

It is often that Kangana Ranaut keeps popping pills of surprises when it comes to her comments. After announcing her entry into politics with BJP, Ranaut has arrived on the Internet to defend a comment she made years back. On Wednesday at the Times Now Summit 2024, Kangana recollected the one time she took a jibe at Urmila Matondkar, labelling her as a “soft porn star.” She further said– “I am not justifying anything. If these actresses are comfortable with words such as tandoori murgiitem girlSheila ki Jawani, why is it seen as something violating?”

Amidst controversies circling item songs and their lyrics, Kangana mentioned how Bollywood has normalised derogatory names for women, dancing to which these actresses feel extremely comfortable. Speaking about her old comment on Matondkar, when she labelled her as “soft porn,” Ranaut said these terms are not objectionable, saying that actresses associated with the adult entertainment industry, such as actor Sunny Leone receive equal respect in India.

For the unversed, Kangana had earlier spoken about Bollywood’s extreme exposure to narcotics, which sparked a response from Urmila Matondkar who asked her to first check the same in her home state state Himachal Pradesh. Then what, Ranaut got back at her with a harsh remark and called her a “soft porn star.” Speaking about which the actress questioned if these terms are derogatory, and that actresses who dance to such lyrics don’t feel any sort of discomfort, so her comment is definitely not an issue.
