NCW Reacts To Supriya Shrinate’s Distasteful Comments On Kangana Ranaut, Seeks Action!

Action should be taken!

Recently, actress Kangana Ranaut surprised her fans with the news of her joining politics. For the current round of elections, the actress is standing for BJP’s Lok Sabha poll from Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi. And it indeed sent shock waves across the globe. Followed by the announcement on Monday, Congress leader and former journalist–Supriya Shrinate took a dig at Ranaut through her Instagram handle. Through a post that said–”Can someone tell what is the current rate in Mandi (market)?” Shrinate targeted Kangana.

The post also included Ranaut’s picture which added more fuel to the controversy. Reacting to the distasteful comment, Kangana also took it to her Twitter handle and illustrated her career in words. Speaking about her career of 20 years, she also said–”We must free our daughters from the shackles of prejudices, we must rise above the curiosity about their body parts and above all we must refrain from using sex workers challenging lives or circumstances as some kind of abuse or slur… every woman deserves her dignity…”

Not just the actress buy the National Council Of Women also spoke again Supriya, and reacted to the post–“NCW is appalled by the disgraceful conduct of Ms. Supriya Shrinate and Mr HS Ahir. Such behaviour is intolerable and goes against the dignity of women. (NCW chief) Rekha Sharma has sent a letter to ECI demanding immediate and strict against them. Let’s uphold respect and dignity for all women.” Through the statement, NCW also clarified that they will take strict action against her.

After all of this, Shrinate commented through a video statement, taking no accountability of the post, saying she would never say such things about another woman. Well, this indeed is very distasteful.
