Kangana Ranaut Posts About Older Women Being Open To Marrying Younger Men, Right Before VicKat’s Wedding

Kangana Ranaut has proven herself as someone who always has something to say about everything. Whether you like or dislike her, you have to admit that she is a force to be reckoned with. With her list of controversies, it is rare for her to be agreeable. However, she took to Instagram recently and subtly spoke about the impending nuptials of Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal impending wedding but not in the way you’d imagine. 

Kangana has taken to her Instagram stories and talked about the breaking of sexist stereotypes that can be seen amongst couples these days. She talks about how there used to be a time when older successful men were seen with younger women and the relationships were considered to be societally acceptable. However, she says that the gender roles have reversed as women are doing the same nowadays. Age is no bar with many women in public eyes as they are open to dating and marrying younger men. And honestly, why shouldn’t they? As long as both parties are consenting adults, what difference does it make?

Kangana wrote in her story, “nice to see rich and successful women, leading ladies of Indian film industry breaking the sexist norms”. Kangana refrained from taking names but considering that her story was uploaded this close to Katrina and Vicky’s impending wedding, it is safe to assume that it was directed towards them. She spoke about how it is great to see these gender norms being broken after years of women being shamed for what they choose to do and who they choose to be with. 

Other than Katrina Kaif, there have been many Bollywood women that have broken these gender norms. I still remember the flack Priyanka Chopra got for marrying Nick Jonas, a man 10 years younger than herself. Moreover, I still see people being salty over their relationship in the comments while the couple continues living their best life. Aishwarya Rai is older than Abhishek Bachchan too and have been married for 13 years now. 

So, Kangana Ranaut for once is right. As long as the relationship exists between 2 consenting adults, I personally don’t see a problem. While men dating and marrying women half their age (or even younger) has been accepted for decades, it isn’t fair to judge people that are in a loving consensual relationship just because of preconceived gender norms.
