A Jammu Couple Made Their Wedding Card Inspired By ‘The Kashmir Files’. We Get The Emotions But Isn’t This A Bit Much?

We all have seen and heard about theme-based weddings and wedding cards. And for the most part, I really don’t seem to mind it but recently, I came across a tweet shared by the filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri and it left me confused. What did he share? Well, he shared pictures of a wedding card inspired by his movie, The Kashmir Files. I mean, I know that a lot of people have loved the movie and it has been making headlines ever since its release, but making a wedding card inspired by it seems a bit too much, doesn’t it?

Vivek Agnihotri took to his Twitter to share a couple of pictures of the wedding card that was inspired by his movie, The Kashmir Files. Sharing the pictures, he wrote, “#TheKashmirFiles sticker on the backside of the marriage invitation Card.”

The front side of the wedding card reads “Rahul Weds Shivani” and also indicates that the couple belongs to Jammu. On the backside of the card is a poster of The Kashmir Files and four black-colored notes that reads, “Kashmir Files has done wonders: 1. It has woken up the nation. 2. It has exposed the cabal in country which collaborates with cross-border terrorism. 3. It has exposed victim collaborators in Kashmiri Hindu community.”

Now, the movie that the wedding card is inspired by – The Kashmir Files – is a movie that talks about the genocide of the Kashmiri Pandits and highlights the violence and attrocities they faced. Now, the movie has earned applause and praise from the general public and it truly is a must-watch, but having something so terrible on one of the D-Days of your life is a bit weird. I get that the couple hail from the region but instead of celebrating their culture and enjoying their wedding, they choose to make a wedding card out of a movie that talks about something so terrible is a bit too much if you ask me.
