But having criteria is good na!
Sima Taparia Says Aparna Shewakramani Was ‘Too Stubborn’ With Her Criteria. She’s Just A Woman Who Knows What She Wants!

The matchmaking process in India is just as important as the whole wedding ceremony. Shortlisting prospective matches, getting to know them, seeing if their vibe matches yours or not, and then repeating the whole process again with at least 10 other people until you find the right person for you, is quite honestly very taxing physically, emotionally and mentally! And that is exactly what the show Indian Matchmaking sheds light on.

Sima Taparia, the popular Mumbai-based matchmaker has made many jodis on the show but has been unsuccessful with one of her longest clients Aparna Shewakramani. In a recent interview, Simaji said that Aparna was unable to match a guy throughout the two seasons because she was ‘too stubborn’ with her criteria.

Simaji was one of the panellists for Sahitya AajTak 2022, where she spoke about why Aparna was finding it difficult to find a match despite being in the show for two seasons. She said that Aparna’s criteria for a prospective match are ‘too long’. She further went on to say that Aparna is stubborn as well and this is why she has been getting fewer matches.

Sima Taparia also said that one needs to be lenient with their criteria. Explaining her ideology in simpler words, Simaji said one cannot have 100 per cent of their criteria matched. If they match 60 per cent, the couple has to make it 100 per cent together.

But I would like to tell Simaji that people have set criteria in mind because they know what they want in a person who is going to be their life partner. Also, they have been looking for a partner for some time now, and based on their personal experiences, they must have realised more about their preferences as well. So, it would not be fair to ask them to just ‘compromise’ because it has been proven time and again that once one starts compromising, that is exactly what they end up doing for the rest of their lives.
