‘Mithya’ Trailer: Huma Qureshi And Avantika Dassani Will Keep You On The Edge Till The End!

I love watching thriller films, more so when they’re crime thrillers. To find out who did it is never easy but the thrill of not knowing can keep you on the edge and usually, that’s what keeps me hooked to the content I consume. And currently, I’ve got a new upcoming release on my list that I just cannot wait to watch and the trailer of the series just dropped. Crime thriller Mithya starring Huma Qureshi is all set to release on the OTT platform Zee5 on February 18. Directed by Rohan Sippy and produced by Applause Entertainment in collaboration with Rose Audio Visual Production, the series is actress Bhagyashree’s daughter Avantika Dassani’s debut show. Mithya also stars Parambrata Chattopadhyay, Rajit Kapur, and Samir Soni in pivotal roles.

The story of the series Mithya is set in Darjeeling. The six-episode series revolves around a Hindi literature professor, played by Huma Qureshi and her complicated relationship with her student, played by Avantika Dassani. The trailer shows the professor assigning all her students an assignment but soon after the submission of the assignment, she accuses one of her students of plagiarism. But in a shocking turn of events, the student ends up getting involved in a rather conflicted relationship with her professor and her personal life and maybe even with her husband which ends with a crime.

Check out this thrilling trailer.

Speaking to Hindustan Times, Huma Qureshi shared that playing her character in Mithya was not easy as she had to make sure to not play the role like ‘a quintessential Hindi professor’ as shown in most Bollywood films. She added that she took inspiration from one of her Hindi teachers from school to play the role. On the other hand, Bhagyashree’s daughter Avantika Dassani opened up about how this series is her ‘dream debut’. The actress revealed that Rohan Sippy’s guidance helped her bring her character to life and the rest of the cast, including Huma Qureshi, also encouraged her a lot.
