Former member of popular K-pop group ENHYPEN, Heeseung, now performing as EVAN, has returned with his first mini album, DEATH OF ME. The eight-track project sees him deeply involved in the creative process across every song, further solidifying his identity as a self-producing artist. We’ve listened to the album from start to finish, and here’s what we think about it.
Powerhouse Vocalist
We got to hear different kinds of vocals. His voice changes from soft and smooth to strong and powerful. It gave us Weeknd vibes and further solidifies his status as one of the greatest vocalists. Every note feels special and shows how talented he really is.
Experimenting
The album mixes R&B, rock, dream pop, and other styles. We never get bored because every song feels fresh and different. It is exciting to hear him try new sounds while still sounding like himself.
Self-producing Artist
We love how he wrote and produced almost every song himself. It shows he is a true artist who puts his whole heart into the music. From the lyrics to the beats, everything comes from his own ideas. This makes the album feel even more special and personal.
Hits Hard
The songs feel so real and personal. We can hear his true feelings about fear, growth, and not giving up. He talks about moving forward even when things are hard. Listening to it feels like he is sharing his real story with us.
