Hansika Motwani Shares South Indian Film Industry Makes Her Feel More Welcomed, Says “I Have Never Been Typecasted”

Over the years we’ve seen several South Indian movies being remade in Hindi and we’ve also seen loads of television actors and South Indian actors transitioning to Bollywood movies. But there’s one actress who actually did quite the opposite of the trend. Actress Hansika Motwani went from Hindi television and films to the South Indian film industry. And not just that, the actress has managed to build a name and fame in the industry. In a recent interview, Hansika opened up about working in South cinema and shared that she feels more welcomed there and also feels blessed that she is not typecasted. She also shared her process of picking a script while revealing a little bit about her upcoming projects.

In a conversation with Pinkvilla, Hansika Motwani said that the South Indian film industry has always welcomed her and given her the liberty to do whatever she wanted while adding that the audience has also given her a similar space and welcomed more from her. “I have never been typecasted I have got more and more roles. The reason I’m getting such roles is also that the audience, the makers see me in that particular genre,” the actress told the entertainment portal. Talking about walking away from the Hindi film industry to do more South films, Hansika shared that she enjoys everything she does but she gets more roles and offers from the South industry. She went on to add that she also feels happier and content with the scripts she’s offered in South cinema but she is open to working in all languages.

Speaking about how she picks her scripts, Hansika Motwani revealed that she hears the script not as an actor but rather as an audience and then takes a call on if the story is interesting enough to pick or not. She also shared that she loves experimenting considering that she’s at a place where she can take up any kind of film while adding that it gives her viewers more variety.

Hansika Motwani also opened up about her ongoing projects and revealed that the script of her web series MY3, which is an adaption of a Korean drama series I’m Not A Robot, has been changed as per the South Indian audience. “Everyone wants to do a double role and in double action. I also had something similar in my mind, a feeling of doing something refreshing and new,” said the actress. She also shared that Rowdy Baby is a horror-thriller and has a very different feel as compared to her other ongoing projects.

For the uninitiated, Hansika Motwani currently has 8 projects in her kitty in Tamil and Telugu including My Name Is Shruthi, MY3, Partner, Rowdy Baby and an untitled film with Vijay Chander.
