Govinda Naam Mera ‘Pappi Jhappi’ Song Review: Love The Happy Vibes And Groovy Music But What’s With The “Frappy” Lyrics?
Frappy has us cringing hard!
Vicky Kaushal, Kiara Advani and Bhumi Pednekar starrer Govinda Naam Mera came under fire a while ago when the makers released the song ‘Kyaa Baat Hai 2.0’ which is a remake of Hardy Sandhu’s Punjabi song ‘Kya Baat Ay’. People were left disappointed when it turned out that Bollywood has come up with yet another remake. And now, another song from the film has been released and we’ve got mixed emotions about it. Starring Kiara and Vicky, Govinda Naam Mera song ‘Pappi Jhappi’ has been composed by Meet Bros and voiced by Meet Bro and Harry Arora. The song has been penned by Kumaar. FYI, directed by Shashank Khaitan, the film has been produced by Apoorva Mehta, Shashank Khaitan and Karan Johar under the banner of Vicom18 Studios and Dharma Productions. It is all set to premiere on the OTT platform Disney+ Hotstar on December 16.
The video of ‘Pappi Jhappi’ opens with Vicky Kaushal and Kiara Advani arriving in a convertible car as they start grooving to the peppy beats of the songs. From the visuals to the “happy happy” vibes, all works perfectly for this romantic dance number from Govinda Naam Mera until the lyrics start making you question what you’re grooving to. The lyrics go from “happy shappy” to “coffee jaisi frappy frappy” making us wonder how far writers will go to get the rhymes right. And don’t even get me started on how Vicky wants Kiara to put her hands in his glove! Yep, I know. That just doesn’t sound right.

Now, I’ll be honest, this song will make you want to break into a dance but those lyrics really had me wondering what a frappe has to do with someone being “happy shappy”. Having said that, let me tell you this, some of their looks from the music video are super adorable and there’s no questioning their cute chemistry in this romantic song.
