In a recent turn of events, Italy’s Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has grabbed everyone’s attention after she shared a selfie wearing the famous Indian jhumkas. Giorgia Meloni Flaunts Indian Jhumka
On Wednesday, April 22, Giorgia Meloni took to her Instagram and shared a selfie wearing the Indian jhumkas that shocked everyone. She was seen wearing a beige sweater under a grey blazer. But her latkan and ghungroo jhumkas stole the show for everyone. She completed this desi-Italian look with soft curtain bangs and some light makeup. She captioned it as, “By his nature, a solerte propagandist of regimes cannot teach lessons, neither in coherence nor in freedom. But these caricatures will certainly not change our way.
Unlike others, we have no wires, no masters, and we don’t take orders. Our compass remains only one: Italy’s interest. And we will continue to follow it proudly, with peace from propagandists of all latitudes.” Meloni received a lot of love from Indians under her Instagram post, appreciating her for stunningly flaunting the jhumkas. One user commented, “Love the jhumkas,” and “You deserve one Bindi on forehead.” Looks like this move of hers struck a chord with many online.

Why Did She Post This Selfie?
While this selfie might have looked casual, Giorgia Meloni received harsh criticism from Russian TV host Vladimir Solovyov after she met with President Zelenskyy, and her criticism of Donald Trump. This was also after the pro-Kremlin host called her a ‘disgrace to the human race,’ a ‘wild beast,’ a ‘certified idiot,’ and ‘nasty little woman.’ He also called her a faciast creature who had betrayed her voters and Donald Trump.
This scandal did not appear suddenly, but after Italy refused to join a US-based naval coalition in the Strait of Hormuz amid the Iran conflict. This decision of hers did not sit well with President Donald Trump, who publicly said that he was ‘shocked’ by this and her lack of courage. This added fuel to an already heated situation, making Giorgia a target from multiple sides.
