Former Miss Barbados Claims Miss World 2000 Pageant Was Rigged To Let Priyanka Chopra Win! Kaafi Jaldi Yaad Aya
Beauty pageants enchanted me as a child because of the way they were glamourised. And of course, watching Disney princesses wearing a crown made me think that the ones participating in the pageants were also the same because they wore crowns, too! My fascination for these “beauty competitions” increased when I saw the Indian actresses were winning such big titles, too! But in what comes as a shocking revelation from the former Miss Barbados, who has claimed that the Miss World 2000, the one she was a participant in alongside Priyanka Chopra, was rigged in the favour of the latter! Not just this, she also alleged that Priyanka has used a ‘skin toning cream’ that had gone wrong during the swimsuit round. Oh my! Has she opened a can of worms?
In a recent video on her YouTube channel, Miss Barbados 2000, Leilani, has dropped some bombs about the Miss World 2000 pageant. She talked about how Priyanka Chopra was “favoured” during the competition and that it was rigged so that she could win. Leilani also said that all the contestants knew Priyanka would win for sure.

Drawing a comparison with the ongoing investigation into the Miss USA pageant where Miss Texas is said to be favoured by the stakeholders of the show, Leilani said that she faced a similar thing when participating against Chopra. She said that Zee TV one of India’s leading channels was sponsoring Miss World and that in itself was fishy. Leilani said that their sashes had Zee TV’s logo first on top and then the names of their countries followed.

She left no holds barred and revealed all the special treatment that Priyanka Chopra received that the other contestants did not. Like she was served food in her hotel room while the others had to come down, she was given separate press calls to attend while the others were not even aware of this happening, and how Priyanka was the only one who was allowed to keep on her sarong during the swimsuit round.

Well well well! This really came out of the blue, didn’t it? I still am not sure whether to believe these allegations or not, because as an adult, I have 0 interest left in these beauty pageants. But I will say that it has been 22 years since all of this happened, toh ab ye sab bolke kya fayda?
