‘Firestarter’ Trailer: A Stephen King Adaptation That Has Zac Efron Playing A Protective Father To Ryan Kiera Armstrong

‘Firestarter’ Trailer: A Stephen King Adaptation That Has Zac Efron Playing A Protective Father To Ryan Kiera Armstrong

I love reading books more than I like watching movies. I also am not particularly fond of books being made into movies because I believe the charm and the essence are lost in translation. But then there have been movies that have time and again proven me wrong – Harry Potter series, The Fault In Our Stars, The Perks Of Being A Wallflower, and a couple more. I think that this is exactly why I’m not so opposed to watching the adaptations of certain books. Also, this is why I was eagerly waiting for the trailer of Firestarter starring Zac Efron and Ryan Kiera Armstrong to drop. And now that it has and I have watched it, I can for sure say that I know it’s not going to disappoint me.

Universal Pictures just released the Firestarter trailer that has Zac Efron and Ryan Kiera Armstrong as leads. Joining them are Michael Greyeyes, Sydney Lemmon, and Gloria Reuben. The movie is supposed to be an adaptation of Stephen King’s 1980 horror book of the same name.

Firestarter is a science fiction supernatural horror film that is directed by Keith Thomas. The story revolves around Andy McGee (played by Zac Efron) and Charlie McGee (played by Ryan Kiera Armstrong) – a father-daughter duo that flees a secret government organisation known as The Shop. They do so in order to protect Charlie who acquires pyrokinesis skills.

In the Firestarter trailer, it can be seen that Andy (Zac Efron) tries and helps Charlie (Ryan Kiera Armstrong) gain control of her powers and also guides her when she struggles with growing up – especially then when she is tired of hiding her true self.

It was one of those trailers that had me gripping the entire time. Honestly, the way it has been shot to their acting, all of it has my heart. I can’t wait for May 13th, 2022 when the movie will be released in theatres and on Peacock.
