Aamna Sharif On Postpartum

The Male Feminist is hosted by Siddhaarth Aalambayan, and in the latest episode, he sat down for a conversation with Aamna Sharif. He asked the actor about her postpartum journey and how she managed the changes that came with it. Aamna Sharif said, “I think that is a journey of every motherhood, it is a process, you go through it. No matter how much advice you get from people, it does not matter because it’s you who has to go through it. It’s your journey.” She added, “I have had a very supportive family, Amit’s family, who tried to make me feel comfortable throughout. But it wasn’t easy at all for me.”

Talking about the challenges, Aamna Sharif added, “I couldn’t understand what was happening to me. On one side, there was my son Arain, the best thing that ever happened to me. I was like, why am I still so sad? why am I going through these emotions. Eventually, I feel you deal with it, it’s a process, and you flow with it.”

Aamna Sharif also said, “As soon as you deliver the child, in the hospital room, you suddenly feel all the attention shifts to the child. It’s not what you feel, but obviously, the attention goes to the child. It’s somehow a beautiful journey because you go through so many emotions.”

When asked how a mother goes back to prioritising herself, the actor said, “You don’t as a mother. I only wanted to do things for Arain. My mornings started with my little one, and my days ended with my little one. How do I make things better for him, or what do I learn? It’s a beautiful journey because you’re growing with your little one.”
