AtHeart Gets Real On Prioritising Rest And Handling Industry Expectations
1. It’s really cool to see how supportive everyone is when Aurora takes a break to focus on recovery. In a high-pressure job like this, how has prioritising rest helped you guys open up to each other when you’re feeling overwhelmed?
ARIN: We try to talk to each other as much as we can, even about really small things, so that when something hard comes up, we can get through it together. We’ve also learned how to share our thoughts and really listen to each other. I think communication is super important for us, and I feel like we’ve gotten a lot better at that as a team.
KATELYN: We always have these little girl talks where we can literally talk about anything. It could be something we’re struggling with, something deep and emotional, or just something random and fun. I would say that we’ve created a really safe space with each other where we can just be honest and say how we feel.
2. Your music often invites people to look deeper past first impressions or labels. From a feminist lens—I’m curious: how do you navigate the industry’s expectations around how young women “should” look, sound, or behave while still protecting that authentic self you keep emphasising?
MICHI: AtHeart values the importance of staying true to yourself, so being able to become a role model for girls watching us and encourage them to be confident in who they are makes me really proud. Nowadays, with such intense beauty standards and expectations placed on women in the industry, I hope AtHeart can be a group that breaks those pressures rather than reinforces them. Through our performances, we want to show confidence, passion, and our own authentic energy. We strive to give strength and inspiration to young women watching us! Heartbeat can always expect the best from us because we won’t let anything dim the creative light that shines through us.

SEOHYEON: For me, I think the most important thing is just being genuinely happy when I’m on stage. I really love performing in front of our fans, so I naturally smile a lot and get so much energy from them. And as AtHeart, I think being ourselves means always giving our best and keeping that positive energy, while also having that dreamy vibe that’s kind of become a part of who we are.
