Exclusive: Anant Joshi On Joining Gullak S5 As New Member: “I Am Nervous How People Will React, We Fear Change”

Gullak is one of the longest-running shows by TVF. The show has touched many hearts and has made a genuine fan following. It’s returning with season 5, and the original cast has reprised their respective roles. However, Anant V Joshi is the new member in the upcoming season of Gullak. He has replaced Vaibhav Raj Gupta as Annu Mishra, and in an exclusive conversation, the actor offered a candid response about the pressures of joining a long-running show as a new cast member. Anant V Joshi On Joining Gullak Season 5 Cast
Anant V Joshi, who was last seen in the second season of Maamla Legal Hai, will now feature in another heartwarming show, Gullak Season 5. He will be seen as Annu Mishra, a character that was played by Vaibhav Raj Gupta in the last four seasons of the show. I was curious to know about the pressures and challenges that came with joining a long-running show and replacing an actor who played a beloved character for so many seasons.
Anant V Joshi gave an honest and hearty response and said, “It is so funny. When we finished the shooting, and then we were all discussing doing another season, there was no pressure then. In fact, there was no pressure ever because the team made me feel so comfortable, the co-actors and makers. But when the teaser was released, and the responses started coming in, I will be very candid here, it has made me very nervous. How people will react to me because you get connected with that character, and whether you like it or not, but an actor’s body represents that character. So, a character that was loved so much by the audience, the same actor is not playing that in the new season, and instead, I am doing it. So it’s natural that there is some responsibility there.”
Anant added, “He had played the character with a lot of love, and I can guarantee that I have played the part with the same level of dedication and love. I just hope that the audience gives this character of mine the same amount of love that they gave to the other roles I’ve played. But I totally understand that, as humans, we fear change. It’s a universal fact that nobody likes change. I am sure the audience will feel that, and I accept it. It’s just that sometimes some actors are not available at the same time, but the show must go on. We have all worked really hard, and I enjoyed doing the show. It was one of my favourite experiences. I felt like I was always a part of this show and the family from the second day itself. ”
