Esha Deol Recalls The Time She Slapped Amrita Rao On The Sets Of ‘Pyare Mohan’, Reveals Why She Did It

In 2005, there was a dispute between Esha Deol and Amrita Rao that escalated to the point that Esha slapped Amrita. Esha later stated in an interview that she has “no regrets” about her actions.

The incident happened on the set of their film Pyare Mohan, which also featured Fardeen Khan and Vivek Oberoi in addition to the two actresses. Esha later said that she became enraged after Amrita reportedly abused her. Esha alleged that Amrita had abused her in front of director Indra Kumar, and the cameraman.

Esha claimed that she slapped Amrita in the spur of the moment to maintain her dignity and self-respect. Esha stated that she has no remorse and that Amrita completely deserved the slap for her conduct towards her at the moment. She went on to explain that she stood up for herself and her dignity.
When asked about losing her cool, Esha explained that, despite coming from a “very cultured background” it is not in her tendency to lash out unless she is provoked. Amrita realised her fault a few days later, according to Esha, and even “apologised” to the actor. Sources say, Esha clarified that she was able to forgive her and added that everything is okay between them.
