3. Zodiac – Netflix

This movie has been directed by David Fincher and it features Jake Gyllenhaal, Mark Ruffalo, Robert Downey Jr. with many others. It is a story of the manhunt for the Zodiac Killer. Zodiac Killer was a serial murderer who during the late 1960s and early 1970s terrorized the San Francisco Bay Area. The killer taunted police with letters, bloodstained clothing, and cyphers mailed to newspapers. The case, however, still remains unsolved. This movie is an absolute classic and you will not be bored for a moment while watching this. It was amazing how well David Fincher replicated this harrowing real-life take on a psychotic, intelligent serial killer and the detectives determined to catch him.

4. Lost Girls – Netflix

This movie was directed by Liz Garbus and stars Amy Ryan, Thomasin McKenzie, Lola Kirke, and Oona Laurence, among others. The film is based on the book by Robert Kolker. It revolves around a series of murders of young female sex workers on the South Shore barrier islands of Long Island, committed by the Long Island serial killer, who to this day remains unidentified. 6. The Unholy – Netflix

This is a 2021 American supernatural horror film written, produced, and directed by Evan Spiliotopoulos. It features Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Katie Aselton, William Sadler, Diogo Morgado, and others. The film revolves around a disgraced journalist who discovers a series of seemingly divine miracles in a small New England town. He then uses them to resurrect his career, though those ‘miracles’ may have a much darker source. This horror film was directed by Nikyatu Jusu. It features Anna Diop, Michelle Monaghan, Sinqua Walls, Morgan Spector, Rose Decker, and Leslie Uggams. The story is of an African woman who hopes her new job as a nanny will help bring her young son to the United States. It is a worthy movie to watch about the woman at its centre and the submergence into her spirit that makes it a poignant, wonderfully personal character study.

8. The Invitation – Prime Video
