Exclusive: Tillotama Shome Was Curious To Know More About Her Antagonistic Character In ‘Delhi Crime 2’

One of the best crime-thrillers to ever grace the OTT screens has to be Delhi Crime. The first season of the show blew the minds of the audience and they immediately fell in love with it. In fact, the performance of actors like Shefali Shah and Rasika Dugal was critically acclaimed and even led to the show winning the Emmy Award. And now after setting the bar so high, the makers and actors have come back with a second season that has already gotten a very positive response from audiences. *SPOILER ALERT* For those unversed, in Delhi Crime season 2, Shefali Shah and Rasika Dugal play the role of a cop and Tillotama Shome plays an antagonist who is kinda the leader of a gang that robs and murders senior citizens. The character of Tillotama Shome is as dark as it gets and you’d think she must have gone to a whole other place while prepping for the role but it wasn’t the case.

In an interview with Hauterrfly, Tillotama Shome opened up about what it was like to play such a dark antagonistic character in Delhi Crime season 2 and the answer is not what you expect. She says that she did not only go to a dark place, in fact, it was also the happiest time of her life.

Tillotama Shome further added, “For me, the work wasn’t finding what I like about Karishma because what she does was unpardonable and I can’t relate to the violence and her actions. I was more curious about who she is, where does she come from, why she does what she does, etc. for me, that was more important. I plummed more into her desires and that’s how I got more access to her character.”

She concludes by saying that she never thought about the actions of her character in Delhi Crime season 2. Tillotama Shome said she focused more on what brought her character to the place she was at during the time. And so because of that, she never really thought she went to any dark place.
