David Beckham Hands Over Social Media Account To Ukrainian Doctor To Create Awareness About Childcare In War-Torn Ukraine

While the political conflict between Russia and Ukraine does not seem to be settling down any time soon many celebrities have come forth and extended their support to the Ukrainian civilians who are stuck in a war-torn country. One of the celebrities that has been extremely vocal regarding their support towards Ukraine is David Beckham. Recently, he handed the control of his social media accounts to a Ukrainian doctor who is working in the city of Kharkiv to highlight the conditions under which the civilians and medical professionals are working in the country.

David Beckham handed over his social media channels to Iryna, who is the head of the Regional Perinatal Centre in Kharkiv, Ukraine. He did this to bring awareness towards how medical professionals in Ukraine are helping mothers safely give birth in such dangerous conditions. He also partner with UNICEF and asked for donations for the same. UNICEF also thank David Beckham for his support. Beckham captioned the post saying, “Today I’m handing over my social channels to Iryna, who is the Head of the Regional Perinatal Centre in Kharkiv, Ukraine where she is helping mothers give birth. According to The Hindustan Times, Dr Iryna said that because of the Russian invasion, Ukraine has taken heavier than expected losses. She said, “We are probably risking our lives but we don’t think about it at all. We love our work. Doctors and nurses here, we worry, we cry but none of us will give up.” How brave and strong!

David Beckham has been vocal about his empathy and support towards Ukraine and Ukrainian children as he has spoken about child refugees in the past as well. Back then, he spoke to James Elder from UNICEF in Lviv, Ukraine who highlights the conditions in which the children are living. He asked for donations back then as well.

Just the sound of everything that is happening in Ukraine and whatever the civilians of Ukraine are having to go through a scary within itself. While we cannot do a lot the most we can do is extend support and create awareness about the problem at hand. And David Beckham is doing his best to do exactly that.
