In the sea of award ceremonies that take place in the Indian film industry, the Dadasaheb Phalke Awards are one of the most important ones. The Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival was scheduled on February 21, 2023, where some of the most prominent artists from the film fraternity were recognised for their hard work, and awarded the prestigious trophy as well! The recently held award ceremony saw Alia Bhatt, Rekha, Vidya Balan, Tejasswi Prakash, and more female artists winning top honours! Starting off with one of the most versatile and stunning performers, Alia Bhatt. She won the Best Actress award for her mind-blowing performance in the Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial, Gangubai Kathiawadi. She made an appearance for the ceremony in a gorgeous white saree as an ode to her character in the film. Vidya Balan won the Critics Best Actress for her role in the film Jalsa. She graced the award ceremony wearing a peacock green lehenga with a cape.

Neeti Mohan took home the Dadasaheb Phalke trophy for her song ‘Meri Jaan’ from Gangubai Kathiawadi. Uff, this song will forever remain my favourite! Tejasswi Prakash won the award for her role in the supernatural thriller daily soap, Naagin. She, too, had worn a pretty saree for the occasion. Everyone’s favourite serial, Anupamaa, won the Television Series Of The Year!
Rekha was bestowed with the top honour of the ceremony for her Outstanding Contribution To The Film Industry. Looking stunning in a silk saree in beige and white, Rekha looked ethereal as always! She posed with Alia Bhatt on the red carpet, and this was definitely the highlight of the evening.
