Naseeruddin Shah’s On Bollywood’s Silence
Naseeruddin Shah has been vocal about his thoughts on the students’ protest, and he also extended his support in the cause. Recently, he addressed questions about Bollywood’s silence on the issue. In an interview with The Wire, Naseeruddin Shah acknowledged the silence of many Bollywood A-listers on the students’ protest. Elaborating on the same, the actor said that they can speak when their conscience allows them to. Naseeruddin Shah also used a saying to explain the situation and said, “Dogs can’t bark when they have a bone in their mouth,” and it will only do so when the bone falls, or their teeth break.
Naseeruddin Shah also agreed that the celebrities who were deliberately suppressing their conscience were also benefiting from it; however, he also questioned how long they would do that, and time will tell.

Yes, he shared a strong message extending support for the students protesting for their future. He condemned the police brutality on the youth and compared the face-covered men disguised as Mumbai police to ICE in America. He gave his blessings to the young students and encouraged them to fight with all the support.
