Censor Board Ordered 4 Cuts For Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ Starring Alia Bhatt And Ajay Devgn

If there is a movie that I’m obsessively following, then it is Gangubai Kathiawadi. So, I don’t think it would come as a surprise when I say I come with updates regarding the movie. After the trailer came out, the anticipation for February 25th, 2022, when the movie starring Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn, is set to release, doubled. Now, let me tell you the good news. The good news is that the Censor Board has given a green light to Gangubai Kathiawadi and the movie has also received a U/A certificate. However, there’s a catch. The Censor Board has demanded 4 cuts in the film that is helmed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

The Censor Board has reportedly asked for the deletion of two scenes and replacements of words in a couple of dialogues in Gangubai Kathiawadi. Other than this, the Board has also demanded the makers to make alterations to a scene that has reference to Jawaharlal Nehru.

The scene in Gangubai Kathiawadi that needs to be altered according to the Censor Board is the one where Sanjay Leela Bhansali shows Jawaharlal Nehru implanting a rose in Gangu’s (Alia Bhatt) hair.

Well, the Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn starrer has definitely gotten the green light from the Censor Board. And after the few changes demanded by the Board will be made, there is not much that Sanjay Leela Bhansali has to worry about. And as for me, I’m just glad that the process went smoothly and that all of us will be able to watch it in theatres on February 25th, 2022.
