Shreya Dhanwanthary, Kevin Smith, Sarah Paulson, Jamie Lee Curtis, And More React To Bruce Willis Retirement From Acting

Do you know what happens when an icon steps down or retires from its field? It leaves a void that no one can ever fulfill. Bruce Willis is leaving that void. The legendary Die Hard actor’s family released a statement wherein they announced that he will be stepping away from acting. The decision made by him and his family is a result of the action hero being diagnosed with Aphasia. Needless to say, the news of Bruce Willis’ retirement from acting had celebs from around extending their support and sent a tonne of love his way.
On Wednesday, a statement from his wife Emma Heming Willis, ex-wife Demi Moore, and their children, was released wherein they mentioned that Bruce Willis will be retiring from the world of acting due to his battle with aphasia – a condition caused by brain damage that affects the ability to understand and express speech. The statement read, “As a result of this and with much consideration, Bruce is stepping away from the career that has meant so much to him.”

Long before any of the Cop Out stuff, I was a big Bruce Willis fan – so this is really heartbreaking to read. He loved to act and sing and the loss of that has to be devastating for him. I feel like an asshole for my petty complaints from 2010. So sorry to BW and his family. https://t.co/npSgvkb5v7

Thinking about the time I watched The Sixth Sense with one of my best friends (who Orla from Derry Girls is based on ) and when the big twist happened at the end, she turned to me and said “ Ah, I get it. Bruce Willis IS the boy”

I wanted to send some love to #BruceWillis. He’s the first celebrity I ever met. Back in the 90’s, touring with Second City at a show in Sun Valley,ID. Imagine our delight when we found out he was in the audience! He came backstage and couldn’t have been sweeter to us wannabes.❤️

Truly, it pains to see the man who won hearts with Moonlighting and then gave master performances in The Sixth Sense, The Last Boy Scout, Pulp Fiction, and many others, retire from acting. But as they say, health comes first and we hope that Bruce Willis finds peace in his battle with aphasia.
