His announcement left everyone in shock – especially his colleagues. Virat Kohli, in a video, said that he was in the car with Anushka Sharma when he received a voice note from AB De Villiers. In the voice note, the cricketer revealed his decision of retiring from all forms of cricket. The news left the actress in a state of shock and she was visibly taken aback.

Virat Kohli said he remembered Anushka Sharma immediately reacting to AB De Villiers’ voice note, saying ‘what’ and ‘don’t tell me’. He further added, “It is very strange. I clearly remember when he decided to finally call it a day. He sent me a voice note. And I still remember we were coming back from the World Cup and were driving. I read the voice note, Anushka was with me and I just looked at her. She said ‘what’ and I showed her the voice note. After seeing it the first thing she told me was ‘Don’t tell me’. I could sense this from last (the) IPL.”

Honestly, I’m not surprised by her reaction. I mean, the man has had quite a career and his contribution to the sport has been immense, also the fact they’ve been such close friends. It is always heartbreaking to watch a sportsman walk away from the sport that has given him/her happiness.
