Brad Pitt Opens Up About Mental Health Struggles
For the longest time, the Fight Club actor refrained from talking about the rough times in his marriage with Angelina Jolie. But during an interview, the actor spoke about dealing with severe mental health issues he experienced during the family problems. In a conversation with Esquire, Brad Pitt said that he was an optimistic person overall, which has also helped him in life. The actor went on to add that he was never suicidal except during the “family stuff”. Brad Pitt said that he felt su*cidal during one little phase in his life, when the pain felt very oppressive, and he could not understand a way out of it. The actor said that he was not going to act on it, but those thoughts gave a sense of relief, and that was the time when he understood what su*cidal thoughts meant. However, Brad Pitt also shed light on the incredible survival instincts that humans have, and it immediately ‘kicked in’ during the particular phase.
Brad Pitt also revealed that after staying sober for 7 years, he got back to drinking; however, in a moderate manner.

For the unversed, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie got married in 2014 after dating for a decade. However, they parted ways in 2016, and the divorce took a few years to finally happen. The couple divorced in 2024.
