On Sunday, Beyoncé bagged Grammys for the best traditional R&B performance, the best dance-electronic music recording and the best R&B song. With these wins, the singer has now won a total of 32 Grammys during her career. Beyoncé has broken the record of most Grammys in a lifetime held by Hungarian-British orchestral and operatic conductor, Georg Solti. The musician had won 31 Grammys during his lifetime and held the record for most Grammys until his record was broken by Beyoncé. The singer also happens to hold the record for the most Grammy awards won by a female artist.

While accepting her record-breaking Grammy Award, Beyoncé thanked her family as well as her late uncle Jonny who played a major role in influencing her interest in dance and music. She thanked her family for loving and supporting her throughout her career. The singer also shared that she is simply trying to receive her award while trying not to be too emotional. Since the singer’s 32nd award was for the Best Dance/Electronic Music Album for ‘Renaissance’ which happens to be fusion music and is a tribute to funk, soul, rap, disco and house, the singer thanked the queer community for “inventing” the genre. She also thanked them for all the love the LGBTQ+ community has showered her with.

This win is a moment of pride for the music icon as well as for all of us! We’re so proud of her!
