If there is one change that has occurred in the past few years that I am very glad about is the fact that celebrities have started opening up about their mental health. I appreciate how they are bringing attention to the importance of mental health and breaking stigmas associated with it. One of those stereotypes is that celebrities have it all and they don’t face any mental health issues, but there are celebrities from around the world who are breaking this stereotype. Take, for instance, the very famous model – Bella Hadid. Bella Hadid recently opened up about her struggles with mental health and how she was in physical and mental pain for a very long time.

Bella Hadid in an interview with WSJ. Magazine spoke about her ‘excruciating and debilitating’ mental health difficulties. She even revealed that she was in a very weird mental space that made it really difficult for her to get out of the house.

Talking about what her morning outfit-putting secret was, Bella Hadid opened up about she hasn’t had a stylist in the last two years and that she was in a weird mental space where it was really complicated for her to get out of the house and put an outfit together. And along with that, it was the anxiety of paps being outside that made things worse.

However, Bella Hadid said that she has been trying and learning to cope with her anxiety and other mental health issues that she is suffering from. The model said that it is now that she has come to love her fashion sense and dress in a way that makes her happy.

Bella Hadid even went on to talk about her own mental health and the reason why she put out a post on Instagram in November which had a series of pictures of her crying. She said, “I would have really depressive episodes and my mom or my doctor would ask how I was and instead of having to respond in text, I would just send them a photo… It was the easiest thing for me to do at the time because I was never able to explain how I was feeling.”

As per Pinkvilla, Bella Hadid went on to say, “I would just be in excruciating and debilitating mental and physical pain, and I didn’t know why. That was over the past three years.” She even revealed that though her mental health is much better now, she has understood that she needs to cope and deal with them on a daily basis.

Mental health issues are not that easy to deal with. It is draining and exhausting. And I guess it is much worse for those who are in the limelight all the time. Having said that, speaking from experience, giving your mental health priority is something that everyone should do – it is not selfish, it is just the need of every hour.
