Anuradha Paudwal Questions Why India Cannot Ban Loudspeakers For Azaan When Middle Eastern Countries Have

In the past few months, a lot of changes have been going around in our society – some I support and some I don’t. But I’m not here to talk about them, I’m here to talk about yet another change that a veteran singer is asking for. Anuradha Paudwal, the famous singer, is seeking a ban on loudspeakers for Azaan. She even went ahead and added that she has visited many Middle Eastern countries and they have even banned this practice. She further questioned that if Muslim countries are discouraging such practices then why is it still an ongoing practice in India?

Anuradha Paudwal, who is seeking a ban on loudspeakers during Azaan, said that one of the reasons why India should ban this practice is because it will create disharmony – her argument is what if Hindus will start playing Hanuman Chalisa on the loudspeakers later.

Anuradha Paudwal said in an interview, “I have visited many places in the world. I have not seen anything like this happening except in India. I am not against any religion, but it is being forcibly encouraged here. They play Azaan on loudspeakers from Mosque. Other communities question if they can use loudspeakers why cannot others do the same… I have traveled to Middle Eastern countries. There is a ban on loudspeakers. When Muslim countries are discouraging it, what is the need for such practices in India?”

For those unversed, this is not the first time a singer from the entertainment industry has spoken about a ban on loudspeakers for Azaan. Sonu Nigam had also expressed his displeasure about hearing Azaan every morning on the loudspeaker. And even after the courts have asked the authorities to remove loudspeakers from religious places, not much action has been taken.
