Andrew Garfield Is Done With Societal Pressure To Have Kids By 40. We Wish Women Could Get Away So Easy
He is so lucky!

Growing up, women are given a schedule – at the age of 24-25years you need to get married, by 30 years of age you should at least have a child, and so on. And any woman who deviates from this schedule is openly judged and looked down upon by society. Now, there is no denying that even men are given a similar schedule, but somehow the pressure of that is not as intense as it is on women. In fact, that is something even Andrew Garfield talks about. In a recent interaction, Andrew Garfield opened up about how he dealt with the pressures of society and how it was easier for him because he was a man.
It turns out that even Spider-Man has to deal with the certain pressures that society throws at him. Andrew Garfield recently admitted during a conversation that he struggled with the “societal obligation” of becoming a father by the age of 40.

Andrew Garfield said that it was not an easy thing for him to accept that his life was going in a completely different direction. The 39-year-old actor said that breaking away from the “societal obligation of procreating” by the time he is 40 has been an interesting journey.

He said that he didn’t know why it didn’t happen and further went on to speak about how he came to terms with it. Andrew Garfield said, “It’s more about accepting a different path than what was kind of expected of me from birth. Like by this time you will have done this, and you will have at least one child – that kind of thing… I think I have some guilt around that. And obviously, it’s easier for me as a man”.
And that my friend is the truth. The fact that he can so openly talk about breaking away from the societal obligation of having a child at a particular age is a big deal in itself. If a woman, even though a celebrity, would face harsh criticism and would be judged for the same. In fact, I’m pretty sure comments would be passed about her personal life and would even be made fun of. The double standards are right there.
