Almost Pyaar Trailer: Anurag Kashyap’s Love Story Ft. Alaya F Explores Societal Prejudices Against Lovers

Anurag Kashyap is back with a modern-day contemporary love story, Almost Pyaar With DJ Mohabbat starring Alay F and Karan Mehta. The movie was screened at Marrakech’s Jemaa El Fna Square last year. The makers have released the film’s trailer and this twisted love story is all set to explore some of the prejudices against the love that strongly exists in our society today. Directed and written by Anurag Kashyap, it will be produced under Good Bad Films Productions.

On January 19, Thursday, the trailer of Almost Pyaar With DJ Mohabbat was dropped. It stars Alaya F and Karan Mehta in lead roles. This is Karan Mehta’s debut movie. Okay, so the trailer starts showing us Alaya F’s and Karan Mehta’s young characters and slowly progresses to show us where they meet for the first time. Karan Mehta plays the role of DJ Mohabbat who instantly catches the attention of Alaya F’s character. Set in the beautiful hill station, Alaya F is shown as a simple girl, but also has another side to her that is hidden from her family. On the other hand, Karan Mehta’s character also disguises himself to get closer to Alaya’s character. Almost Pyaar With DJ Mohabbbat trailers shows us how both the characters hide their true selves from each other but ultimately fall in love.

It also reveals a twist in the plot when the couple elopes from home and explores their love story. From the trailer, we can assume that the story will deal with the societal problems, prejudices and ego that exists against the couple for falling in love and wanting to stay together. And well, they ultimately have to run, and as the tagline of the film says “Mohabbat se hi toh kranti aayegi.”

The plot seems to be a little predictable, especially considering the themes that it will deal with. Background score composed by Amit Trivedi is interesting and you will instantly get hooked on it. The trailer of Almost Pyaar With DJ Mohabbat can also be confusing at first to understand in which direction is the story heading. Looks like the modern-day love story will definitely show the struggles every couple who falls in love have to face like family and society. The actors’ quick change in emotions, leading a dual life is what I found will be interesting to watch. The movie is all set to release on February 3, 2023.
