Recently, actress Alia Bhatt, known not only for her stellar performances on screen but also for her advocacy for animal rights, took to Instagram to share a deeply disturbing incident involving the abuse of a pet dog.

The incident came to light through a post shared by singer Sophie Choudry, who bravely shed light on the cruel treatment inflicted upon a beagle by its caretaker. The post, which Alia reposted on her Instagram Stories, depicted a heart-wrenching scene of a woman mercilessly hitting the defenseless dog with its leash on a footpath in Mumbai. Sophie Choudry, in her original post, provided an update on the situation, revealing that she had managed to connect with the owners of the dog, Parth and Shweta. Shweta, deeply traumatized by the video, confessed to never having seen it before. Shockingly, despite the evidence, the maid responsible for the abuse was still employed by the family.
Expressing her outrage, Sophie emphasized the urgency of the situation, urging the dog’s owners to take swift action and ensure the safety of their beloved pet. Fortunately, she revealed that the dog, named Bira, had been relocated to a pet shelter, where he would hopefully receive the care and love he deserved.

This heartbreaking incident is not the first time Alia Bhatt has spoken out against animal cruelty. Earlier this year, she expressed her dismay after a video surfaced online showing staff members of a veterinary clinic in Thane assaulting a pet dog named Tofu. Alia, deeply affected by the distressing footage, used her platform to condemn the act and raise awareness about the importance of treating animals with kindness and respect.
