‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’s All New Track ‘Dholida’ Starring Alia Bhatt Brings Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Signature Folk Beats To Life
Alia Bhatt starrer, Gangubai Kathiawadi‘s new song “Dholida” brings Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s signature folk music and dance to life again. Featuring Alia Bhatt in a beautiful white saree, worn in the traditional pallu style, the music video projects the actress in a never-seen-before avatar. Donning a massive hair bun with red roses and a white gajra, Alia Bhatt showcases the best of her moves throughout the two minutes, forty-seven seconds long song. Composed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, sung by Janhvi Shrimankar, Shail Hada and lyrics penned by Kumaar, the song weaves together the classic ‘Gangubai’ swag, sported by Alia Bhatt. “Dholida” displays a festive set-up in Kamatipura which plays an important role in the film. The intense dance sequence by Alia Bhatt leaves us surprised. The song is also reminiscent of Deepika Padukone’s infamous track “Nagada” from Ramleela, replete with garba and ear-splitting dhol. The song has been choreographed by choreographer Kruti Mahesh who is known for her years-long collaboration with filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali for his blockbuster beats like “Ghoomar” from Padmaavat, “Pinga” from Bajirao Mastani amongst others. The track further encapsulates the Sanjay Leela Bhansali aesthetic which gets a revised, bigger version through each of his films’ music like “Dholi Taro” from Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Ramleela and more.

Dropping the teaser of the song on her Instagram handle, Alia Bhatt wrote, “An absolute dream come true to dance on SANJAY LEELA BHANSALI’s music. My heart forever beats to Dholida.” The song is absolutely groovy and we’re sure of it being the festive anthem of the year.

The Alia Bhatt starrer has already garnered immense love from celebrities and fans alike, and we can’t wait to watch the film on the big screen.
