This Woman Had To Quarantine With Tinder Date After Both Tested Positive For COVID-19, Netizens Call It ‘Omicron Romance’

The COVID-19 pandemic has twisted our arms and made us do things that we usually wouldn’t. From self-isolating ourselves to protect our loved ones to sweeping the floors, we’ve all done things we don’t like for the sake of our health. But the one good thing about the pandemic for the couples is the opportunity to quarantine together and spend the much needed time with each other. But at the same time, the COVID-19 pandemic has altered romance, online dating and other aspects of our lives. Now imagine this: You go out on a date with someone you met on a dating app like Tinder, but end up quarantined with that person because you both tested positive for the virus. I’ve got mixed feelings about this one but okay. It seems like this is exactly what happened with an Australian woman, Sarah Henley.

You’d normally expect a Tinder date to end with a kiss or maybe your date dropping you home or plans for a second date but who would’ve thought that a date could end with isolating together, right? Well, Sarah Henley took to TikTok to reveal that she tested positive for COVID-19 along with her Tinder date and the duo ended up isolating together, as reported by the New York Post. The Australian woman, who goes by @poppymoore777 on TikTok, shared a series of videos on the platform about her unique date. As per the Covid norms of the country, all people who test positive must isolate at home for a minimum of seven days from the date they tested positive. The video shared by Sarah Henley shows the couple spending time together, ordering food, drinking beer, washing clothes, playing video games and even watching TV shows together.

And wait, that’s not all. Sarah’s Tinder date also made her a salad and halloumi and served it to her on the couch in the viral video. Well, where do we find such Tinder dates? While the reason behind the couple quarantining together has not been revealed, Sarah Henley did share that isolating by herself was not possible due to ‘personal reasons’, as reported by The Independent. The viral TikTok video has garnered over 16 million views.

TikTok users are also having a field day with this viral video. While several users wondered if this will turn into a deep romance, others called it ‘honeymoon phase’. Some people called it ‘Omicron Romance’ and some joked that if the couple had a ‘rom-com movie’ it would be titled ‘Love Sick’. “At least you would know what it’s like to live with him so you can decide whether or not he’s the one,” wrote one user.

Well, TBH this is one of the most interesting Tinder date stories that we’ve come across amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
