OMG! She Did That Again, Urvashi Rautela Gets Trolled For Copying Zendaya’s Caption! Why Itna Copycat?
Urvashi Rautela has been making it to the headlines for a thousand absurd reasons. From her self-boasting Instagram bio to fashion faux pas, the actress and former Miss Diva Universe has ticked ‘em all off. But one of the many things that she repeatedly grabs headlines for is copying captions and tweets of popular figures. Yes, that’s right, she did it again. Urvashi Rautela has all eyes on her with another copied caption, and this time it’s the Dune and Spider-Man: No Way Home star Zendaya on her radar. It all happened when eagle-eyed people on the internet dug out Urvashi Rautela’s Instagram post from July 16, 2021, which read, “My heart is just overflowing with love and gratitude. I’m so incredibly honored & speechless to work beside the talented people that I get to call family. I’m so proud of all of you. Thank you to everyone out there for all your love for Hindi remake of #ThiruttuPayale2 #setlife #actorlife.”

This instantly caught people’s attention because it sounded so familiar. Turn out, a little digging and they found that its an exact copy of a caption written by Zendaya on July 29, 2020, almost a year before Urvashi’s! Thanking the team and entire cast of her 2019 show Euphoria, which she is also a producer on, Zendaya had shared on her Instagram handle, “I’m honestly speechless, my heart is just overflowing with love and gratitude. I’m so incredibly honored to work beside the talented people that I get to call family. I am a small piece of a big beautiful puzzle and I’m so proud of all of you. Thank you to everyone out there who’s watched and given our show life.”

And everyone on the internet, including myself, said “Aila, yeh toh same, same hai.” Being a public figure, with a million eyeballs staring right at you, one thing that is beyond my understanding is why should you even attempt to do something like that? This brings me to think that either it was straight-up plagiarism or a genuine publicity stunt (there’s nothing in between). Because let me tell you that it isn’t the first-ever time, the former Miss Diva Universe was caught while churning out some identical captions. For instance, do you remember the time when she blasted media for calling her coffee date with Ahaan Panday (Ananya Pandey’s cousin) a mere publicity ploy? And addressing the same on her social media handle, she copied Gigi Hadid’s Instagram post which was intended to slam American media channels for writing about her relationship with musician Zayn Malik.
That not being the end of it, she has been trolled several other times, for copying PM Modi’s tweet on Shabana Azmi’s health and even writer John Paul Brammer’s review tweet on the popular film Parasite. And now it’s poor Zendaya’s words stealing the spotlight. After all of this, I would just like to say that please, take it easy, Urvashi!
