Woman Gets Called Out For Saying Female ISRO Scientists Are “Real Feminists.” That’s Such Narrow Thinking!
There's only one of feminism!

As feminists, we thought that we only have to fight against patriarchy and misogyny but it looks like we also have a long battle to fight against the ‘pick me girls’. It is sad and infuriating that in a day and age where women are fighting for equal rights on behalf of the entire gender, we have some women who want to pick the entire movement apart. A recent example of this is a tweet shared by a woman featuring the female scientists at ISRO who are responsible for the success of Chandrayaan 3’s landing. She asked other women to look up to these scientists because they represent “true feminism”.
This Twitter user is getting trolled on social media for differentiating between the kinds of feminism as if there are any. Many have pointed out that feminism is everything else but not what she is advocating. And rightly so, because it has never been a movement that differentiates between women.

One of them called the Twitter user’s opinion ‘dumb’.
Get ready to witness such dumb takes, haven't y'all seen a woman in saree who works? Women have been doing this for years and years now. Y'all are pathetic af😂 https://t.co/zdeB13OmTv

Another Twitter user, surprisingly a man, came forward to clarify that those women who are not as ambitious are not feminists.
So not-so-ambitious women can't be part of feminists? https://t.co/XTV9NTVDrS

One of the users also said that women should stop preaching to other women what feminism is. They also added that what this Twitter was doing is definitely not an empowering move.
Can we stop lecturing other women what feminism should mean for them? What you’re trying to do here is exactly what that word doesn’t stand for – not letting women think for themselves. I’m so tired of yall atp. https://t.co/Aclt6hmusq

Journalist Rituparna Chatterjee went on to write that the women of ISRO did not get here in a day.
Please stop with this brainless take, comparing feminisms. You think women of ISRO got here in a day? Radical feminism of our foremothers – right to vote, study, speak, travel, earn – ensured the road was paved for these women. Don't be such a shame to the sisterhood. pic.twitter.com/FzGg7Y2nJt

dear girls, this post is not what real feminism looks like.
can we just let women be instead of trying to tell them what is real. also this tweet is very derogatory towards women who CHOOSE not to pursue careers but instead focus on trad life. are they not feminists then https://t.co/pAkO8exrBJ

One of the users said this woman is insecure and is hurt seeing other women succeed.

The Twitter user also went ahead to later “clarify” her stand and said that she was calling out the pseudo-feminists and how feminism is a movement that fights for being equal to men.
Not talking about outfits here. I'm referring to how we have fought for our rights for years to be here. Finally we women get the right to show our potential specially in the field of STEM which was considered more preferable for men. Referring to pseudo feminists who think by…

Fighting against the pick-me girls is like taking two steps back in this lengthy fight. Women should support women and their choices and not try to appease men by saying, “I am not like other girls!”
