Samantha Ruth Prabhu Reshares Rani Rampal’s Instagram Story About Raising Daughters To Be Capable, And We’re Here For It!

I think all of us at some point have been asked the question, “Log kya kahenge?” In most families in our country, we have been pushed and compelled to worry more about the image society has of us than our own well-being and happiness. I believe that these rules are enforced more on women than it is on men. Women are expected to maintain a moral image from the beginning just so they have a marketable reputation when they come to a marriageable age. A woman’s image is based on if she is married, which is so unfair! Because of this, most parents tend to put more emphasis on the woman’s marriage rather than her education and career. Many women have to put their dreams and ambitions aside to abide by these societal norms. Luckily, Samantha Ruth Prabhu considers this to be unfair as well as she takes to Instagram to comment upon this regressive mindset.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu was seen reposting a story by Indian Women’s Hockey team captain Rani Rampal which spoke about educating daughters and allowing them to live their lives independently. It read, “Make your daughters so capable that you won’t have to worry who will marry her. Instead of saving money for her wedding day, spend it on her education. And most importantly, instead of preparing her for marriage, prepare her for herself. Teach her self-love, confidence, and that she can throat punch someone if she needs to,” PREACH, SIS!

It is really great that celebrities such as Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Rani Rampal, who are such an inspiration for their fans, are spreading this important message. With how regressive our developing country and society tend to be, I believe it is high time that we move on from this perspective and let women live their lives the way they want to without silencing their voice, dreams and ambitions.
