Women On Reddit Slam The Tomboy Trope In Fiction, And Bollywood Should Really Read This!

Growing up I used to be a girl with short hair and a loudmouth – so as you would have guessed it, I was typecasted to be a tomboy. I mean, wasn’t that the stereotype that you would see in movies? Just look at Anjali from Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Sanjana from Main Hoon Na (of course, there are more examples but these are my favourite ones). Having said that, even though there is a stereotype that follows through in the tomboy trope that is depicted in fiction, I’m glad for it. Why? Because I’m glad that they are including women who don’t fit the “girly girl” category.
