On World Food Day, 5 Mouth-Watering Korean Delicacies Every Desi K-Drama Fan, K-Pop Fan Must Try

On World Food Day, 5 Mouth-Watering Korean Delicacies Every Desi K-Drama Fan, K-Pop Fan Must Try

If you will tell me to name one thing that I can’t live without, then I will definitely say food (it comes after family, obviously). Well, speaking of food, October 16 has been marked as World Food Day. And if we are talking about food, then there is no chance that we are not going to talk about Korean food. Every time when I watch a Korean drama or see a K-Pop idol’s video, the delicious Korean delicacies makes me drool like I’m seeing Aditya Roy Kapur’s abs. So, on World Food Day 2022, I decided to celebrate this important day by listing down some delicious Korean food that every desi K-drama and K-Pop fan wants to try once in their lifetime.

1. Kimchi

If you are a fan of K-dramas or K-Pop, then there’s no chance that you haven’t heard about Kimchi which is basically Korean achaar (in my opinion, obviously). It is traditionally made with a type of cabbage called Baechu and other vegetables. You will see many K-Pop idols and K-drama characters eating their meals with a bowl of Kimchi as it is tasty and healthy as well.

2. Ramen

If you haven’t tried Ramen yet, I’m seriously judging you right now. And no, it is not soup wali Maggi, okay. The instant noodle has made an appearance in lots of popular K-dramas like Vincenzo, What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim?,  True Beauty, and others. And the iconic dialogue “ramyeon mukgogallae?” which translates as “Would you like to come in and eat some Ramen?” is our favourite. It is basically the Korean version of ‘Netflix and chill’.

3. Japchae (Korean Glass Noodles)

Japchae or Korean Glass Noodles Stir Fry is prepared with sweet potato giving these noodles a glass-like appearance. Before serving, Japchae is stir-fried with a variety of spices, vegetables, sauces, and garnished with sesame seeds.

If you are a massive lover of Noodles, then you need to try this popular Korean dish as soon as possible.

4. Korean Fried Chicken

Now, we are going to talk about that one Korean dish that I haven’t tried yet but I will definitely sell my soul to try it because it looks so delicious on the screen. It is Korean Fried Chicken, which is fried chicken that is typically marinated with a variety of ingredients and deep-fired twice. After that, it is coated with soy sauce, honey, and garlic but the crispy skin is what makes it different from other chicken dishes.

5. Kimbap

If you have watched the popular Korean series Extraordinary Attorney Woo, then you must be familiar with Kimbap because it is Attorney Woo Young Woo’s favourite food. Just like sushi, Kimbap is made with sticky rice, vegetables, and meat which are rolled together with dried seaweed. It is then cut into smaller pieces and is perfect for snacking.

6. Tteokbokki (Spicy Rice Cakes)

You will see Tteokbokki or spicy rice cakes everywhere in Korea as it is popular street food in the country. The rice cake which looks similar to pasta is coated with a flavorful sauce which is tangy, spicy, and sweet at the same time.
