Winona Ryder Opens Up About Breakup With Johnny Depp, Says She Sought Therapy To Get Over It
Winona Ryder and Johnny Depp were a rising star couple of the late 80s and the early 90s. They were very much loved by their fans. The couple had also gotten engaged before they split in 1993. Their breakup also left a lot of people heartbroken but Winona remained tight-lipped about this part of her life and no one knew how she was coping with it. Recently, Winona Ryder has shared how she was dealing with the breakup and what she was actually going through. She has also revealed how adversely the media spotlight affected her.
Winona Ryder Opens Up About Break Up
In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Winona compared that part of her life with her 1999 film Girl, Interrupted which revolved around a girl in a mental institution. She said that she remembers playing this character who got tortured in the Chilean prison (The House of the Spirits, 1994). She also said that she would look at the cuts and bruises on her body and she struggled to see herself as this little girl. Winona also said that she was doing this to herself on the inside because she was not taking care of herself.

Further ahead, Winona Ryder said that her The Age of Innocence co-star Michelle Pfeiffer noticed how she was deteriorating and told her that this stage will also ‘pass’. But Winona could not bring herself to hear it. She also said that she has never spoken about this and there is a part of her that is ‘very private’. She also mentioned that a therapist helped her get over this mess.

Johnny Depp had also gotten a tattoo that read, Winona Forever but after the breakup, changed it to ‘Wino Forever’.
