‘The Male Feminist’: Shruti Haasan Isn’t One To Shy Away From Talking About Her Nose Surgery And Fillers. We Love This!
I don’t know how many of y’all remember this, but during the recently held Cannes, when Aishwarya Rai Bachchan made an appearance, a lot of people on the internet spoke about how different she looked and questioned whether she did something to her face to look that way. A lot of people were enraged as to why would she do that to herself and called her names for doing something to the way she looks. And when I read that, my first thoughts were, ‘So what? So what if she did something to her face? How is that anyone else’s concern? It was her choice and she did’. I mean, if a person doesn’t like the way they do or want to look a certain way then that’s their choice, isn’t it? In fact, that’s exactly what Shruti Haasan talks about in the first episode of Hauterrfly‘s new show The Male Feminist. Shruti Haasan opens up about why she openly talks about the surgery she got done on her nose and the fact that she has fillers.
In the first episode of The Male Feminist, Shruti Haasan unapologetically accepts that she got her nose fixed as it was broken and quite different before compared to how it looks now. And after doing her first film with the old nose, she chose to do the surgery. She revealed how people taunted her by saying that she was using deviated septum as an excuse to fix her nose.

Putting an end to those speculations, Shruti Haasan says that she did have a deviated septum and it hurt a lot. She added, “But if I could make it prettier, it’s my face, why wouldn’t I? It was that simple.” She further goes on to say that she doesn’t feel the need to explain or justify why she wants to look a certain way for herself.

Shruti Haasan then spoke about how the next question people would ask her was ‘Did you get fillers?’ and the answer was a simple yes. The actress then goes on to talk about if tomorrow she wanted to get a facelift then she might. It is her choice. She goes on to say that it is her body and those who want to do something to it or don’t want to do something, it is their choice just like it was hers.

When asked about where she gets this confidence of being so unapologetically herself, Shruti Haasan said that people always used to tell her things like, ‘You don’t look like a heroine’, ‘Shruti has a foreigner’s face’, and ‘She’s very talented but she doesn’t look Indian enough’. And now that she is in her 30s, she doesn’t want to fit in anymore and knows herself well enough to make decisions for herself.

Ngl, I really am happy that Shruti Haasan is being so real about her body and what she has done to it. She is helping people see that there is nothing really wrong with wanting to look a certain way to look pretty and that at the end of the day it is their own bodies and they can make that choice for themselves. No one should be shamed or looked down upon for making those decisions.
