Taika Waititi Forgot That Natalie Portman Was In The ‘Star Wars’ Movies And Offered Her A Role In His
When Natalie Portman asked Thor: Love and Thunder director Taika Waititi what he would be doing next, he was so excited to work with her that he forgot about her extensive resume. He told her that he would be working on a Star Wars thing while pitching her on returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe for the Thor film sequel. He asked her if she has ever wanted to be in the Star Wars movies. That’s when she reminded him that she had already been in a Star Wars film.
Waititi joked about having forgotten about those movies. He was referring to the Star Wars prequel trilogy where Portman played Queen Padmé Amidala who was also known as Anakin Skywalker’s secret wife and eventually mother to Luke and Leia Skywalker.
Waititi’s Star Wars endeavour is shrouded in mystery. According to sources, Taika Waititi’s film will most likely be the next Star Wars picture to hit theatres.

In Love and Thunder, Portman was once again seen in her role as Dr Jane Foster, an astrophysicist who gets to wield Thor’s powerful hammer for the first time. Waititi further said that he introduced the concept of reintroducing Foster’s character. He further added that a lot of fans miss Jane Foster and would like to see her again.

According to Waititi, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige was more than open to the concept, saying he wanted to figure out how to incorporate Mighty Thor into the film with Portman in the lead role. Waititi said that Natalie Portman had never heard of the Jason Aaron run of the comic. He said that he dropped off some comics for her.
