I have had the privilege of having been raised by my grandparents because I was born in a joint family and my paternal grandmother still lives with us. The point in sharing this was that I know what it feels like to have lived with grandparents and be doted by them! And being the first child, I was on the receiving end of tons of love and all my demands were fulfilled! So, when Priyanka Chopra shared a couple of pictures from her childhood with her nani (maternal grandmother) and how huge a role she played in her upbringing, I could totally relate! In the photos, little Priyanka, her mother Dr Madhu Akhouri Chopra and her cousin sister Priyam Mathur are sitting on the bed with her nani. In the next photo, the 7 Khoon Maaf actor is seen feeding cake to her grandmother. How cute is that! Sharing the photos, Priyanka wrote how her grandmother had helped in raising her when her mother and father were balancing their studies and medical careers. She wrote, “All of 6, celebrating my Nani’s (maternal grandmother) birthday. She helped raise me while my mom and dad balanced studying and medical careers. She was a hugely consistent part of my upbringing.”

The 39-year-old also went on to write about how lucky she feels regarding having ‘so many strong maternal figures’ in her life.
