‘Naagin 4’ Actress Nia Sharma Has A Solid Solution To Deal With Trolls And Cyber Bullies. We Like The Idea!
For some reason, we as a society have assigned way too much importance to clothing. While they are meant to be pieces of fabric meant to cover your body, I feel that we base a person’s entire personality on what they wear. Almost all first impressions are based on a person’s clothes. And I feel more so in the case of women, their character and basic dignity are questioned based on what they wear and how they cover themselves. Especially women who are popular in the public eye. The more people that follow her, the more there unsolicited comments about her character. While we like to believe that we have come a long way, slut-shaming is still very prevalent and happens openly in the comment section of their social media. Actor Nia Sharma recently opened up about her experience with slut shaming trolls on the internet and how she handles them.
In a recent interview, Nia Sharma discussed her opinion on slut shaming and how to deal with them. When asked what her opinions are on censorship of comments on social media she said that censorship of comments on social media is unreasonable. She believes that if you’re joining a social media platform, one goes in knowing what to expect and should be open to criticism. However, she does say that the “shitty comments” that slut shame and body shame you aren’t welcome. Trollers like that should be blocked according to Nia Sharma. Well, she isn’t wrong!

Nia Sharma herself seems to have very thick skin and gives it back to the trollers that slut shame her. She says that it isn’t that she doesn’t care and on the contrary, does care a lot. Nia says that she is aware that a lot of what she shows doesn’t go down well with the audience. However, she doesn’t do it for attention and just prefers portraying a very honest version of herself. Nia Sharma says, “The best part about me and my interviews is that I just try to be honest, I confess a lot because I feel if someone is giving me their time I should respect it by not lying, and in that emotion, I do speak a lot and I feel, ‘ oh I should have said this or that.’”
As a celebrity, I am certain it is difficult to remain true to who you are while remaining unaffected by what the audience has to say about you. Nia Sharma is somehow navigating this and all I can say is that you go girl!
